Ilayathapathy Vijay is currently working with his 'Theri' director Atlee for "Thalapathy 61". The film features Kajal Aggarwal, Samantha and Nitya Menon as the lead cast opposite the hero. Shooting began in May and the shooting is going on quite fast and it is heard that the unit has wrapped up three schedules and are currently planning for their next schedule in Europe.
The film's first look is planned to be released on June 22, 2017 and the film is scheduled for an October release. Popular director S.J Surya is the antagtonist in the film. The story is written by S.S Rajamouli's father Vijayendra Prasad and music is by legendary A.R.Rahman
