Chiranjeevi's Lankeswarudu Was Utter Flop In Telugu, But Super Hit In Tamil??

Mega Star Chiranjeevi's 'Lankeswarudu' directed by Dasari Narayana Rao was released in the year 1989, and proved as utter flop at the box office. Even though, the movie was publicized as Darshaka Ratna Dasari Narayana Rao's 100th movie, and even though the movie had super hit songs like 'Jivvu mani konda gaali', the movie bit the dust miserably. Maybe confused story line and over dose of sister sentiment were the reasons for its box office failure. However, surprisingly when the same movie was dubbed in Tamil and was released all over Tamil Nadu, the movie got a big success there. Since Tamil audiences always prefer over action movies and that might be the reason for the movie's success there. But many of the Telugu people are not aware of this news because the Television media and internet websites were not there at that time.
