First Silver Jubilee Movie In Tollywood

Akkineni Nageswara Rao and S. Varalakshmi starrer "Balaraju" is said to be the first silver jubilee movie of Tollywood, which was released in the year 1948. Hence ANR gets the credit of first silver jubilee movie's hero of Tollywood. The movie successfully ran 40 weeks in Vijayawada and 37 weeks in Rajahmundry.
